A week of bike riding and good times on and off the bike in the cycle-friendly Tweed Valley in the Scottish Borders from Saturday 11 - Sunday 19 June 2011. Tweedlove is organised by locals and showcases the best on and off road riding in the area. Loads of the events are free.
The Tweed Valley is an area with hundreds of miles of the country’s best trails, tracks and roads. So it’s not surprising that in the valley there are a remarkable number of resident bike nuts, of both the mountain and road variety, to whom biking is a big part of life. It is their enthusiasm, generous support and community spirit that makes TweedLove such a great success.
Organisers have planned some major new events to add to the busy roster of open races, big guided rides (both on and off road), film (including a film-making competition) and concert nights, dual slalom and barbecue and a series of informal ride-outs, where local riders host visitors on some of their favourite (and lesser known) trails.

The first TweedLove bike festival was held in the summer of 2010 with the aim of reinforcing the Tweed Valley’s reputation as the premier cycling destination in the UK. It was a real success with well over 1000 cyclists taking part, from across the UK and as far afield as Spain and Sweden. Some events sold-out and others were over-subscribed.
In 2010 the festival received no public agency funding and was organised on a voluntary basis, with most of the events free to take part in. The two main organisers were design firm Hillside Agency and the Glentress-based Hub in the Forest with huge amounts of essential local volunteers. There was also support from the Tweed Valley Consortium, several local businesses, the Borders Recreational Cycling Project and cycling brands Kona, Endura and Orange.
